Initial fears of a serial killer in the small town of Jal, New Mexico, have been dispelled after human bone fragments found at a property were determined to likely have been legally purchased online, authorities said.
A Tennessee man called police, claiming to be a hiker who had been attacked by a bear in need of assistance after having fallen off of a cliff. In reality, he had actually killed a hiker, and was attempting to pass the murder off as a bear attack, officials say.
