The State of Oregon have taken measures to ban the sale of recreational marijuana within their borders, although the voters will make the decision in 2016.

US President Barack Obama has ordered the Supreme Court to dismiss the case filed by Oklahoma and Nebraska against Colorado pot law. Although the federal government has waged war against cannabis, the present administration sees no argument in connection with state laws regarding legalizing marijuana.
Another proposals have been submitted to the Legislature to legalize the use of marijuana in the United States. The Secretary of State William F. Galvin said that the proposals are now on their way on the 2016 ballot.
