Burundi's embattled President Pierre Nkurunziza sacked his defense and foreign ministers on Monday, five days after surviving an attempted coup by generals opposed to his bid for a third term in office.
Burundi took 18 people suspected of involvement in a failed coup against President Pierre Nkurunziza to the high court on Saturday, relatives of some of the accused said.
Belgium said on Monday it had suspended some aid to Burundi, ratcheting up international pressure on the donor-reliant African nation over protests against the president's quest for a third term.
