French warplanes pounded Islamic State positions in Syria on Sunday as police in Europe widened their investigations into coordinated attacks in Paris that killed more than 130 people.
Islamic State claimed responsibility on Saturday for attacks that killed 127 people in Paris, saying it sent militants strapped with suicide bombing belts and carrying machine guns to various locations in the heart of the capital.
French police have carried out searches at Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) offices in France, the Paris Prosecutor's office said on Sunday, as part of an investigation following revelations the carmaker rigged vehicle diesel emissions tests.
