Is tennis superstar Maria Sharapova ready to tie the knot with boyfriend and fellow tennis player Grigor Dimitrov?

The Russian tennis player fueled engagement rumors when she posted a photo of a ring on Instagram. She captioned the post, "I got this #lineandjo ring exactly a year ago in #Stockholm. Such nice memories and a beautiful addition to my jewel box."

Although Sharapova did not mention who gave her the ring, the International Business TImes pointed to a Standart News report which claimed that the ring came from Dimitrov.

Reports revealed that this move may be Sharapova's way to put an end to the breakup rumors surrounding her relationship with Dimitrov. "Apparently, with this demonstration Maria is refuting allegations that she and Grigor are not an item anymore," reported Standart News.

Meanwhile, Sharapova's love life may seem to be soaring high, but her career has not flown as much.

Despite all the hard work that she gave, Sharapova failed to steal the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) crown from tennis legend Serena Williams.

Williams successfully retained her number one ranking while the Russian tennis player remained at the number two spot.

KPopStarz pointed to an interview with the BBC, "I got the job done.I know I'm not moving forward, but I'm proud of that effort and to finish the year off on this way.I will not be chasing the number one ranking next season. I think adding more Grand Slams is the top priority," said Sharapova.

Dimitrov, on the other hand, was also not able to end the year on a high note. He may have reached his all-time high ranking back in April, climbing as high as 8th place on the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) tour, but he failed to reach the finals in various tournaments. This caused him to lose his top 10 ranking. In addition, Dimitrov lost to Roger Federer at the recent Swiss Open, ending the year in 11th place.

Well, they may not be number one in their respective careers, but at least they are each other's number one supporters.
