"Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star Khloe Kardashian is desperate to legally end her marriage to Lamar Odom, but her estranged husband refuses to sign the divorce papers.
According to People, the former NBA player has not filed a response to the divorce filed by Khloe. As a matter of fact, nothing has been heard of from the 34-year-old basketball player and he has also not been seen in several weeks.
"He needs to sign papers and he won't," a source close to the Kardashian family told the site. "He disappears here and there, and she can't find him. She just wants to move on," the insider added.
Yet, things may not at all be against the reality star as the divorce can still push through even without her estranged husband's participation. Since Lamar has failed to make a response and that he could not be located, Khloe has the option to file either a request to enter default or a request for dismissal.
This, as the site reported, was according to the papers filed by a Los Angeles Superior Court Family judge.
The first option is used either when a spouse who has been served fails to respond within 30 days, or the respondent spouse cannot be located while the second one is used when one or both parties decide to essentially cancel the divorce filing altogether.
"As long as there are no properties or children between the two parties, one person can't stop the other from getting the divorce just by not showing up," a California divorce attorney told People.
Meanwhile, International Business Times reported that Lamar reportedly refuses to sign the divorce papers as he wants to reconnect and revive his marriage with Khloe.
Khloe filed for a divorce years after hiding Lamar's drug abuse and infidelity issues from her family and friends. She eventually broke up with him and dated rapper French Montana a few months after the split. However, the relationship also did not work and the two ended up going their separate ways.
