Eerie crime scene photos show a trail of evidence in the murder of a Maryland mother of five.
Rachel Morin went for a jog on the Ma and Pa Trail in August 2023 and was raped and killed. Prosecutors allege that Victor Martinez-Hernandez, a migrant from El Salvador, brutally attacked her and then fled to Oklahoma, where he was later arrested, WBAL-TV reported.
"I think today was probably the most difficult day because you're looking at the medical examiner photographs up close. Just horrific," Randolph Rice, an attorney representing Morin's mother, told the station. "From the very top of her head down to her toes, no part of her body was spared."
Crime scene photos highlighted by former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer show a trail of evidence leading to the crime scene. Pictures she published on X show a blood trail highlighted by yellow markers, Morin's broken Apple watch, and finally, the drainage tunnel where the final crime occurred.

Fox News reported that Martinez-Hernandez was tied to the crime through DNA. His DNA also was found at the location of a home invasion in Los Angeles.
The network reported that during the opening of the murder trial defense attorney Sawyer Hicks tried to cast doubt on the quality of the DNA and suggesting there was the potential for cross-contamination.
