A Tennessee woman posted a tribute to a man who died as a result of a hit-and-run on social media, leading law enforcement to name her as a suspect in the tragic incident.
Bobby Dan Green was riding a bike down a street in Palmer, Tennessee, on Monday when he was struck and killed by a passing vehicle.
"On March 31, 2025, the Grundy County Sheriff's Office responded to a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of Rock Avenue and Main Street in Palmer, Tennessee. An individual riding a bicycle, later identified as Bobby Dan Green of Palmer, was struck by a vehicle that subsequently fled the scene," the Grundy County Sheriff's Office posted to Facebook. "Tragically, Mr. Green succumbed to his injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) arrived on scene and has taken over the investigation."
Haley Layman, 25, shared the statement from the Sheriff's office on her own personal Facebook. She also shared a post from Green's daughter, Clara Desirae, in which she pleads for information that could help police identify her father's killer.
"I know I don't post a lot of personal stuff and I never ask for anything, but please if anyone knows who hit my daddy Bobby Dan Green from the back while he was riding his bike down the road going toward Palmer market (pretty sure it was intentional because they came back after they hit him looked at him and left) in grundy county with a pick up truck with a brush guard on it (possibly) and it may be a blue truck as well... (they have a busted headlight and THP has the piece that fell off) please please let me know or Tennessee highway patrol," Clara wrote.
"They hit him came back and checked to make sure he wasnt getting up and left him in the road to die and he did pass away 5 minutes after he was put in the ambulance. Please help me. I can't imagine leaving someone on the road to die alone," she continued. "I do U turns if I accidentally clip an animal just to see if I can help it in anyway.. so a person? I don't care if I hated them I would never be able to do something like that. Please I'm begging anyone."
Layman also took to Facebook to post her own tribute to Green, writing "Rest in peace Bobby Dan. You're going to be missed so much," according to KBTX.
Just hours after sharing posts related to Green, Layman was arrested in connection with his death. She has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death and tampering with evidence, and her bond is set at $100,000.
