Texas police say they have arrested the man responsible for randomly attacking a bride-to-be during her bachelorette party.
Trevon Woodards, 27, was arrested in the case, Dallas Police announced. Police named Woodards as a suspect in the aggravated assault case and asked for the public's help in finding him.
The incident happened on Saturday, March 22, when Canada Rinaldi, 27, was out in Dallas enjoying her bachelorette party with friends and relatives. Rinaldi is from Oklahoma but chose to celebrate in Dallas because it's where her fiancé proposed to her, Fox News 4 reported.
After leaving a bar, the group was walking to an Uber when Rinaldi was assaulted. A man walked up to Rinaldi and attacked her, punching her and knocking her to the ground face-first, Fox News 4 reported.
"So I remember walking towards the back of the car, and then I remember waking up in an ambulance. That's all I remember," Canada told the station. She had a concussion and broke her nose and several teeth, among other injuries.
"And so I saw this man walk up behind Canada, and he reached his arm out, and it kind of looked like he was gonna take her cowgirl hat off of her head, but then immediately he just threw his arm back and punched her," Rinaldi's 23-year-old sister, Brienna, told Fox News 4.
The attack happened just four weeks before her wedding. A GoFundMe page was set up to help Rinaldi.
"On the night of Saturday, March 22, our beautiful friend was celebrating her bachelorette party—what should have been one of the happiest nights of her life. Instead, it turned into a nightmare," the page states. "Please consider helping her during this heartbreaking time. No one should have to face something like this, let alone carry the cost of their own trauma. Every donation, share, and kind word reminds her that she is not alone, and that love will always rise above violence."
Woodards criminal history includes assaulting a police officer, misdemeanor assault and burglary, Fox News 4 reported.
