A Louisiana man was shot multiple times after he stepped between some neighborhood bullies and his teenage daughter, according to a report.
Video shows Corey Breaux speaking to some boys who were harassing his daughter when one of them pulled a gun and pointed it in the direction of his daughter. Breaux steps forward, placing himself between the boys and his daughter, and is shot, WBRZ-2 reports.
"We got do better. We have to do better. This doesn't hurt as much as knowing that we have this world where these young kids figure we don't have a future, so let's go burn it all," Breaux told the station.
Breaux's wife, Lorena, said he was shot three times.
"A lot of people say when it comes down to it wrong place, wrong time, but this happened in front of his home, our home. He wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time. The other people were, but he was not," Lorena told WBRZ-2.
The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses while the father of four heals and to raise money to move out of the neighborhood.
"My husband was gunned down in front of his house while protecting his daughter from three individuals. He took three bullets to the neck, abdomen and groin," the page states. "We are asking if anyone can to donate to help out family financially while he takes time to heal. The funds would also be used for us to relocate as this is a matter of safety. Also condolences and well wishes are also accepted!"
