Mitchell Wasek, whose father co-founded the popular Texas gas station chain, Buc-ee's, has been charged with possession of child pornography.
The indictment comes less than a year after he was charged with multiple counts of felony invasive recording, Fox 7 reported.
The investigation into 29-year-old Wasek began when a guest at the Wasek family's Spicewood home discovered a hidden camera disguised as a charging port in a bathroom wall. The device had recorded guests using the toilet, showering, changing clothes, and engaging in sexual activity. Investigators later uncovered similar recordings at other properties owned by the family in Austin, Dallas, and Colorado. A grand jury indicted him on 21 counts of felony invasive visual recording in May 2024. The charges involved 13 victims filmed secretly over two years.
As part of the investigation, electronic devices were seized from Wasek's bedroom. A forensic examination uncovered files containing suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including images of juvenile females between the ages of 5 and 18. A forensicOne image was identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as a 7-year-old victim linked to a 2014 child pornography case.
As a result, a warrant for Wasek's arrest was issued on February 27, with bond set at $50,000. Wasek is set to make his first court appearance on the new charge on March 19.
