A Florida woman's attempt at revenge backfired when she mistakenly spray-painted a neighbor's car, believing it belonged to her ex-boyfriend, according to police.
Evelina Fabianski, 18, was arrested in Deltona, Florida, on Wednesday, Feb. 26, after deputies responded to reports of a young woman vandalizing a vehicle, the Volusia Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Fabianski, who was accompanied by a 16-year-old accomplice, admitted to spray-painting and throwing eggs at the car, only to later discover it belonged to an innocent neighbor.
Authorities say responding deputies found Fabianski and the teen nearby, covered in spray paint. At the scene, officers recovered an empty Crown Royal bottle, a scale, and a can of yellow spray paint, along with two open containers of Four Loko in Fabianski's vehicle.
Bodycam footage reviewed by FOX 35 captured the arrest. "You really need to try harder to be sneaky because you are God awful," a deputy said. "You guys spray-painted the wrong damn car."
Fabianski was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, DUI, possession of alcohol under 21 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The 16-year-old was charged with possession of over 20 grams of marijuana.
The damage to the neighbor's car is estimated by Law & Crime to be roughly $5,000.
