Nearly 30 years ago, Maranda Malnory's parents were murdered in front of her when she was just under two years old. Now, the man responsible for it is about to be executed.

Ford, now 64, is set to be put to death Friday at 5 p.m.—the first execution of the year in Florida. Maranda told Gulf Coast News she'd like to know why Ford did it.

"I would want to know why. Just because nobody has been able to pinpoint that. But, to be honest, I don't really care anymore," she told Gulf Coast News. "Technically, my worst enemy is the person who did this. But I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy."

In 1997, Malnory's parents, Greg and Kimberly, were murdered while on a fishing trip with James Ford. The three worked together, and Ford had invited the couple on the trip, according to court records obtained by The Palm Beach Post.

Greg was shot in the back of the head, beaten and then had his throat slit. Kimberly fled to the couple's truck and strapped Maranda inside the vehicle before Ford raped, beat and shot her dead, records show.

Maranda was found 18 hours later, covered in insect bites and her mother's blood. Ford was linked to the crime scene through DNA, his firearm and witness statements, records reveal.

"I told one of my grandmas the other day you grieve the people you knew. But I grieve what could have been," Maranda Gulf Coast News. "I wasn't even two yet. I have no recollection of any of what happened."
