A night at a Miami Beach bar turned into a xenophobic scene when a customer launched into a racist tirade against a Hispanic worker while refusing to pay his tab.
The incident unfolded at Norman's Tavern on January 19, just 12 hours before President Trump's inauguration, according to authorities.
Police identified the man as 42-year-old Michael John Nixon of Arlington, Virginia, who allegedly became enraged over his $130.81 bar tab.
Surveillance footage obtained by Local10 captures him making a series of disturbing remarks, including, "F---ing Trump is going to deport your a--."
"Hola. English, motherf---er," Nixon allegedly shouted. "I live in America. You speak English." Authorities said he continued his rant, repeating "English, b----" four times.
The video also shows him making derogatory comments about Cubans.
The altercation escalated when Nixon allegedly assaulted the bartender. In an act of self-defense, the worker punched him in the face, police said. Nixon left the bar but returned while officers were already on the scene.
Nixon was arrested and faces a felony charge of battery with prejudice, along with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, defrauding an innkeeper and disorderly conduct. His charges resulted in an over $5,000 bond. Miami-Dade court records indicate his case is still pending.
