Some January 6 rioters who benefited from the slew of pardons handed out by Trump have, once again, found themselves in legal trouble.

Just one day after federal prosecutors dismissed his Capitol riot case under a clemency order from Trump, Florida resident Daniel Ball was rearrested on federal firearm charges while still in custody, according to WUSA9.

The firearm case, originally filed in Florida in August, had been delayed due to 38-year-old Ball's detention in D.C. on charges stemming from his involvement in the Capitol riot.

Trump also pardoned a North Carolina man for his role in the Capitol riots, who is now facing charges related to child pornography and sexual exploitation of minors, stemming from a separate investigation.

David Daniel, 37, pleaded guilty on January 8, 2025, to assaulting police officers during the January 6 Capitol attack, where he helped lead a violent push against a barricaded Senate Wing door, QC News reported.

His conviction, carrying a maximum sentence of eight years, was erased when President Trump issued sweeping pardons for January 6 participants shortly after returning to office.

Additionally, Indiana man Matthew Huttle, also pardoned by Trump, who was fatally shot by a sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop on Sunday.

Huttle, 42, was pulled over by a Jasper County Sheriff's deputy on State Road 14 in Indiana. The stop escalated into a physical altercation when the officer attempted to arrest him, according to police reports.

The struggle resulted in the deputy fatally shooting Huttle, who allegedly resisted arrest and possessed a firearm. Authorities have not disclosed what prompted the arrest or the specific details of the altercation.

Huttle was convicted for his involvement in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots, where he was documented inside the building for 10 minutes and lingering on the grounds for hours.

Also, Houston man Andrew Taake was pardoned by Donald Trump for assaulting police officers during the Capitol riots, is now wanted in Texas for a 2016 charge of online solicitation of a minor, raising questions about the scope and consequences of the blanket pardon.

Taake, 36, was sentenced to six years in federal prison in June 2024 for using bear spray and a whip-like weapon against officers during the January 6 insurrection. He was identified and arrested after boasting about his actions on a dating app.

Following his release from federal prison, Taake is now a wanted fugitive in Harris County, Texas, for the unresolved solicitation charge.

Taake's conviction was voided when Trump pardoned over 1,500 Capitol riot participants shortly after taking office. However, this pardon did not address a separate 2016 felony charge in Texas for allegedly soliciting a minor online, for which Taake had been out on bail.
