A Kentucky man reportedly shot a Wendy's employee in the "buttocks" over cold fries, only for the employee to return fire.
Just after 10:30 p.m. January 6, Monjah James-Wooten, 25, allegedly got into a fight with a Wendy's employee in the drive-thru over cold fries, according to court documents obtained by WHAS 11.
James-Wooten, and two others that had been in the car with him, then pulled around and entered the restaurant where he then reportedly shot at the female employee, as reported by WKRC.
However, the worker, identified as 26-year-old Twaunesha Coleman, allegedly fired back at James-Wooten with her own gun. The man reportedly proceeded to shoot several more times at Coleman, as one "struck the victim in the buttocks," a complaint warrant obtained by the Smoking Gun stated.
The employee was taken to the hospital for her injuries, which were determined to be non-life threatening.
On January 17, James-Wooten turned himself into police, where he was charged with two counts of second-degree assault. He remains at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections as of Thursday.
Meanwhile, Coleman was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. She had been on probation at the time of the shooting, and was told she was not able to own a firearm. Her arraignment is scheduled for February 4.
