A North Carolina man reportedly announced to a Facebook group he was the administrator of that he had just killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.
Fuquay-Varina police say described the scene as a murder-suicide, stating that George Lesniak, 63, shot and killed his wife, Cathleen Lesniak, 59, and then committed suicide. Police were called to the home around 6:03 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the bodies of the couple.
Lesniak, who worked as the vice president of training for Autel Automotive Intelligence USA, announced to a Facebook group that he had killed his wife and was about to kill himself.
Lesniak was the administrator on the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) page. In the post, Lesniak wrote "My wife admitted to cheating on me so I killed, I'm about to kill myself. Figure this group out for your selves," ncbeat.com reported.
The page is now private, but ncbeat.com posted screen shots of Lesniak's post and the reaction of group members. The post went live around 6 p.m., shortly before the 911 call to police.
"He made a Facebook post saying he did it," read one of the reactions posted by the site. "Crazy world."
Fuquay-Varina Police Department stated that there was no ongoing threat to the public and that the investigation is ongoing.
The couple had been married for 34 year, the News & Observer reported. The newspaper reported that while George worked at Autel Automotive Intelligence USA, Cathleen was employed as a technical production manager at Advance Auto Parts.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occured at the Lesniak residence on January 18. We at Autel express our heartfelt condolences to the Lesniak family and friends," Autel - North America stated in a Facebook post.
