A former FBI profiler called persistent rumors in the disappearance of an autistic teenager "nonsense."
Sebastian Rogers who was 15 when he disappeared from his Tennessee home the night of Feb. 25 or the early morning of Feb. 26. Since then, persistent rumors have focused on a man in a green hoodie seen at the Texas Roadhouse. Rogers and his mother ate at the Roadhouse the night he disappeared.
The rumors have been so persistent that law enforcement felt the need to address it in a lengthy statement in December: "We can confirm that after a thorough discussion with this individual, there is no evidence linking them to Sebastian's disappearance," the Sumner County Sheriff's office stated. "The search for Sebastian Rogers remains our top priority, and we will continue to pursue all leads with the utmost diligence. We ask for continued support and patience from the community as we work together to bring Sebastian home."
On Jan. 16, retired FBI profiler Jennifer Coffindaffer weighed in on the issue.
"I am seeing lots of nonsense back again in social media regarding the person in the green hoodie," Coffindaffer wrote on X. The police have been crystal clear on this topic...Cleared."
Sebastian vanished from the home he shared with his mom, Katie Proudfoot, and stepdad, Chris Proudfoot. Sebastian went to bed Feb. 25 and was missing the next morning.
A partial video of the Rodgers meal at the Texas Roadhouse has been released and can be seen below. Also, security surveillance video from a neighbor's camera appeared to show some type of activity near Sebastian's home at 3:10 a.m. Feb. 26, News Channel 5 reported.
