Police are trying to solve a mystery after two duck hunters stumbled upon human remains in North Carolina.
The hunters found the remains just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 13. The men were duck hunting in a wooded area near the 1600 block of Highway 16 North in Taylorsville, police said in a statement.
After the discovery, law enforcement secured the area and began their investigation.
"At this time, the identity of the human remains is unknown," law enforcement stated.
The Alexander County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are assisting in the processing of the scene and with the investigation.
The Sheriff's office and the Medical Examiner's office did not immediately respond to Lawyer Herald's requests for comments.
