A Massachusetts man is accused of beating his former employee to death before pulling the victim's pants down to his knees.

Ryan Wilcox, 32, faces charges of armed assault with intent to kill, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault with a dangerous weapon, WCVB-5 reported.

The charges related to the death of Mitchell Burke, 32, of Worcester, Massachusetts, whose body was found in some woods Jan. 4 in Hubbardston, the TV station reported.

"During the interview with Ryan Wilcox, Ryan told investigators that he struck Mitchell with a metal baseball bat numerous times, including in the head," court documents stated, according to WCVB-5. The station also reported that Burke's pants were pulled down to his knees.

Mitchell's mother told police that he had borrowed her car to meet Wilcox on New Year's Eve, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported. The body showed substantial signs of trauma when it was found on a cart path days later, the newspaper reported.

The newspaper stated that court records did not indicate a motive for the beating.

Wilcox was arraigned Monday and Judge Zachary Hillman entered a not guilty plea on the defendant's behalf. The newspaper reported that Wilcox is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
