The family of a victim killed in the New Orleans New Year's Day terror attack revealed that he had recently gotten his dream job, working at the Superdome.

Matthew Tenedorio, 25, a Long Island native, moved to New Orleans after getting a job as an audiovisual specialist at the Superdome, according to a GoFundMe page established for the family.

Tenedorio was among the at least 15 people killed when 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar of Houston drove a rented truck down Bourbon Street, running down pedestrians. After Jabbar crashed the truck, he got out and opened fire with a rifle. Jabbar was killed in a shootout with police at the scene, the FBI stated.

"Our lives were shattered when Matthew Tenedorio was tragically shot and killed in the devastating terrorist attack in New Orleans. Matthew was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend whose laid-back spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to everyone around him," the GoFundMe page states. "As an audiovisual technician for the Superdome, he played a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for countless fans and event-goers."

In an interview with NBC, Tenedorio's parents talked about how the position at the Superdome was a dream come true. "He loved people," said his father, Louis said. "He always had a smile on his face."

"He had so many friends, and he was always willing to help people," his mother, Cathy, added.
