Katie Cassidy, the girlfriend of Liam Payne at the time of his death, is set to speak with Argentine authorities investigating the case.

Cassidy is not suspected of any wrongdoing, the outlet added. It also quoted a friend of hers who said she will "help in any way she can." "She wants the right people to be brough to justice, and if that takes answering their questions, she's going to do it."

Judge Laura Bruniard, overseeing the case, has filed charges against Esteban Reynaldo Grassi and Gilda Martín, who were CasaSur's head of security and hotel manager, respectively, when Liam died on October 16, 2024.
Moreover, Liam's family has made the decision to sue those they believe are responsible for his death. The family's legal team appeared in court in Buenos Aires in late November to initiate legal action against anyone who may have contributed to his passing. Surveillance footage from the Buenos Aires hotel where Payne died reportedly shows three hotel staff carrying his nearly unconscious body. According to TMZ, they picked him up in a informal and crude manner to lock him in his room and prevent him from returning to the hotel bar.
The outlet further reported that the singer had been trying to escape his room, but despite the staff being aware of this, they left him alone. Although 911 was called for urgent assistance, it was not enough to save Liam's life.
Toxicology results from the artist's autopsy confirmed the presence of this mixture, along with cocaine. While it is still unclear how he fell from the balcony of his hotel room, this investigation is at least proving sufficient negligence on the hotel's part for a lawsuit.
