An Indian woman took vengeance to an extreme after finding out that her long-term partner was engaged to another woman without her knowledge, cutting his genitals off before using the same weapon for a suicide attempt.
The couple, who are from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, had been together for eight years before the unnamed woman found out her boyfriend had been unfaithful and confronted him about it, reported The Free Press Journal.
The two agreed to meet at a guest house for a final conversation. However, the woman became enraged at their final meeting and attacked the man with some kind of sharp object, cutting his genitals off. She then turned the weapon on herself and attempted to commit suicide.
The man sprung into action despite his injuries and saved the woman's life, alerting authorities. Both individuals were receiving treatment for their injuries, and the woman was placed under arrest.
The two individuals involved in the incident report some discrepancies between versions of events. The woman claims the attack took place within the guest house, whereas the man claims it occurred inside a car.
Police are still investigating the incident.
