A former teacher in Tennessee who raped a 12-year-old boy and got pregnant has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Alissa McCommon, a former fifth grade teacher, pleaded guilty to 12 felony counts including rape of a child and statutory rape by an authority figure, WREG-3 reported.
McCommon also received community supervision for life and registration as a violent sex offender for life. The sentence forbids her from having contact with any of her victims, the TV station reported.
The charges McCommon faced related to five of her victims, although authorities believe there could be as many as 21, the New York Post reported.
The former teacher groomed her students a variety of ways, WREG-3 reported. She called one of the victims nearly 200 times. Sometimes she played video games with the victim or sent explicit photos via Snapchat. In another instance, she manipulated the student by threatening to kill herself should he stop being with her.
McCommon told one 12-year-old that she was pregnant by him. The paternity was later confirmed through DNA, PEOPLE reported.
"I loved you like family and opened my doors to you. You used our friendship to hurt me and the people I love in this world took innocence from my son before puberty, took what was supposed to be a great experience, and tainted it. Your mind is sick and twisted for looking at a child and being turned on," one of the victim's mother's said to the court according to the WREG-3. "The innocent child will be loved and raised without your influence. There's no amount of time they can give you that will equal what God will give you. You will burn in hell."
