Before school shooter Natalie Rupnow carried out a killing spree at her Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, the 15-year-old seemingly had a fascination with death with what appears to be a membership on macabre website Watch People Die.
The gory site gives its more than 3 million subscribers access to morbid videos that show people dying by various manners of death, including shootings, beheadings, burnings and beatings.
Rupnow, who went by Samantha, allegedly operated under the handle @Crossixir, and commented on a clip that captured a suicide by hanging four months prior to the mass shooting, according to the New York Post.
"Gotta be thinking of something while hanging himself," she reportedly wrote.
When another user asked for clarification, she responded: "I wonder what a lot people think before they die you know?"
"Like just simply if it's if they want to die at all or just nothing, or either perhaps just sex or just something stupid. Only thing I would bother to think of is just do it already if I was killing myself but depends on the situation. What would you think though?"
In response to a video of a man jumping out of a window, Rupnow seemingly commented last month, "Fat version of Liam Payne," alluding to the singer's fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, earlier this year, the outlet reported.
Armed with two handguns, Rupnow used only one to open fire at Abundant Life Christian School Monday, killing 42-year-old teacher Erin West and 14-year-old student Rubi Vergara, according to authorities. Six others were injured before Rupnow turned the gun on herself.
She died at a hospital.
Police are working to determine if the attack was targeted and premeditated. A motive remains under investigation.
Rupnow's parents, Melissa and Jeff Rupnow, have been cooperating with the investigation, police said.
It's unclear if they will face charges in connection with the shooting.
