An image from Google Maps Street View showcasing a man bent over the trunk of a car, loading a bag into it, has helped Spanish National Police officers solve a murder case they had been investigating for over a year.

The image, inadvertently captured by a Google Maps camera truck, features a man placing a white sack into the truck of a red Rover car in Calle del Norte in Tajueco, Spain, according to Surinenglish.

The image has been linked to the case of a 33-year-old Cuban man identified only by his initials, JLPO. His body was found dismembered after he traveled to Spain in November of 2023 looking for his wife. He was reported missing by a relative shortly after traveling.

Some of his remains were found in a cemetery about six miles away from the town of Tajueco. However, law enforcement revealed that parts of his body are still missing.

Investigators believe that JLPO was killed due to his involvement in a love triangle. When he arrived in Spain's Soria province, it is believed that he discovered his wife was having an affair with 48-year-old Manuel Isla Gallardo, her neighbor, who owns a bar nearby in Bayubas de Arriba.

JLPO's wife allegedly planned the murder with Gallardo. JLPO's cousin stated that he received texts from JLPO that didn't sound like him, in which he described meeting a woman and that he had been planning to get rid of his phone.

Investigators arrived at a major breakthrough when they discovered the Google Maps Street View image of the man and the red car. While the individual within the photo has not been identified, they believe the image depicts Gallardo loading JLPO's body in a white trash bag into the trunk of the car.

Gallardo and JLPO's wife were arrested on Nov. 12 for their involvement in the crime.
