The body of a missing South Carolina mom was found next to a "hollowed out" well two months after she was reported missing, according to authorities.
On Monday, Daniel Peel was arrested and charged with murder, kidnapping and obstruction of justice in connection with the death of Shamra Felkel, the Darlington County Sheriff's Office announced.
It's unclear if he entered pleas to the charges.
Felkel, 49, was reported missing Oct. 7, but was last seen alive in Hartsville, South Carolina Sept. 25.
Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee confirmed the missing mom's decomposed remains were discovered in a "hollowed out" area next to an inoperable well in Hartsville, according to PEOPLE.
Felkel was allegedly strangled to death by Peel following an argument, WBTW-TV reported, citing his arrest warrant.
The pair knew each other but an exact relationship remains unclear.
Speaking with the station earlier this week following the news of Peel's arrest, Felkel's daughters, Karli Felkel and Kasey Wolfe, said their mom would often "end up in bad situations."
"Because even if somebody was bad for her, she would still see the good in them," they said, the outlet reported. "And they would always take advantage of her."
On Facebook Thursday, Karli continued to grieve.
"I truly feel like I am living in a nightmare," she wrote. "This has got to be the most traumatic thing me and my siblings have experienced and there are just some things people can not come back from."
"I will miss you for the rest of my life mom. I hope it is so beautiful up there. I will see you again one day," wrote Karli.
According to her online obituary, Felkel loved animals, fishing and Fleetwood Mac. She leaves behind three children and two grandchildren.
