Luigi Mangione was voted to be the 'Best At Pick Up Lines' at the exclusive prep school he attended from 2010 to 2016.
The 26-year-old, who faces murder charges for allegedly gunning down United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan Dec. 4, was apparently singled out by his classmates for his flirtatious manner.
The distinction was given to Mangione in his Gilman school year, the $40,000-a-year Baltimore prep school, according to the Daily Mirror.
The yearbook further states that Mangione's classmates were astounded by his respect for others. Mangione described his experience at Gilman as "illuminating."
The yearbook designation is ironic given the fact that Mangione's apparent propensity for flirting helped lead to his capture. While staying at a New York hostel, Mangione flirted with a worker and lowered his mask to show his face. The image helped authorities identify him and provided the public with the clearest image of the suspected shooter until his capture.
Even before his arrest, images of Mangione were generating attention across the internet.
Some social media users likened, The Daily Mail noted the hostel image to Hollywood stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Timothee Chalamet.
The Gilman yearbook also included a message from Mangione to his parents.
"Mom and dad, thank you for dealing with me these past 18 years. I cannot thank you enough for supporting me along the way," Mangione stated.
Mangione was the valedictorian of Gilman. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania.
