A Florida caregiver accused of abandoning a malnourished girl suffering from cerebral palsy was arrested five months after she allegedly left the child at a hospital.

Mikaela Jazmine Green, 37, was taken into custody Saturday at a home in Jacksonville, Florida on charges of aggravated child abuse and child neglect, jail records show.

It's unclear if she entered a plea. She remains held on $150,000 bond.

The investigation into Green began in June when she allegedly dumped the juvenile, special-needs victim at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, authorities said, according to WJXT-TV.

It's unclear if Green is the child's biological mother.

Green first brought the girl to the hospital for complaints she had been vomiting for a week and unable to tolerate more than one feeding per day, the arrest report obtained by the station read.

Upon arrival, hospital workers noticed the victim – who is non-verbal, confined to a wheelchair, and requires a feeding tube – was malnourished and had less than 2% body fat, according to the report. She also suffered from bedsores.

Immediately after the victim was admitted to the healthcare facility, Green allegedly disappeared and ignored the hospital, law enforcement and the Department of Children and Family Services' several attempts to contact her, authorities alleged.

A review of the girl's medical records indicated she had not seen a doctor for nearly a year.

It's unclear who has current custody of the victim or if she remains hospitalized.

Green is due back in court Dec. 26.
