A Georgia teen who allegedly killed someone during an attempted carjacking was driven back to the crime scene by his father in order to be apprehended by authorities.

"That decision was very hard," said Jarvis Mosley, who drove his 19-year-old son Jaylen Mosley back to the liquor store where the carjacking occurred.

"Very hard, very hard decision. But again we didn't have anything to hide," the father continued.

On Saturday evening, the Atlanta Police Department responded to a carjacking outside of a liquor store. They arrived to find 70-year-old David Tuttle injured, suffering from a gunshot wound. Tuttle was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A family member then contacted Jaylen's parents to inform them that Jaylen may have been at the crime scene during the carjacking.

"I called his father to tell him to take him up there and see what was going on and that's what we did," Teneka Mosley told WSBTV.

Jaylen allegedly shot Tuttle while attempting to steal his car.

"I don't see him being a murderer," Teneka continued, explaining that Jaylen had suffered from mental health issues in the past.

She also stated that Jaylen's parents were intent on supporting him in the aftermath of his crimes.

"We are devastated that David was taken by the senseless violence so prevalent today in communities large and small," said the family of David Tuttle.

"We are thankful for the Atlanta Police Department's swift apprehension of the suspect and are working in cooperation with the authorities and the court to ensure there is justice for this crime."
