A Texas woman was found dead in a creek bed just two miles from the hospital where she was last seen, leading to questions about her care after being discharged in a disoriented state.
On Monday, Stephanie Troilo, 58, was taken to Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio after likely suffering a seizure, KHOU reported.
Despite appearing to be in a vulnerable state, she was discharged around 5 a.m. with only a bus pass in her possession, classified as homeless.
On Wednesday, a missing persons report was filed, while her family launched a search, offering a $1,000 reward for her safe return.
Stephanie's body was discovered on Sunday in a nearby creek bed, just two miles from the hospital.
Police do not suspect foul play and believe she may have suffered another medical episode leading to her death.
Meanwhile, Stephanie's family is mourning her loss and have expressed frustration over the hospital's decision to release her without proper safeguards.
