Authorities in Southern California have arrested a woman accused of running brothels out of her chain of skin care spas across Ventura and Orange counties.

Amanda Xia, 44, of Yorba Linda, was taken into custody on charges of pimping, pandering, and money laundering, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office via KTLA reports.

The investigation began earlier this year following reports that Swan Spa in Thousand Oaks was allegedly operating as a commercial sex establishment. Detectives uncovered evidence suggesting Xia was profiting from illicit services offered by her employees.

The investigation expanded to three additional spa locations owned by Xia: Star Spa, Victoria Spa and Four Seasons Spa.

"Detectives were able to positively identify multiple male individuals suspected of purchasing commercial sex at each of the four locations under investigation," authorities confirmed.

On November 13, search warrants were executed at Xia's home and the spa locations. Xia was arrested at her residence and is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
