A bold attempt to steal an Amazon delivery truck went sideways, landing an Ohio man in police custody after the driver reportedly subdued him in a headlock.

Samuel Pritchard, 24, allegedly climbed into the driver's seat of a parked Amazon delivery truck on Sunday afternoon while the delivery driver was in the back, WCMH reported. The driver was alerted to Pritchard's presence as he attempted to drive the truck away.

The two fought until the driver managed to punch Pritchard and place him in a headlock, according to court documents obtained by the station. Despite Pritchard's attempts to escape, the driver reportedly held him until police arrived at the scene.

When questioned at the police station, Pritchard allegedly admitted he was withdrawing from fentanyl and could only recall parts of the incident.

Pritchard has been charged with one count of robbery, specifically for attempting to inflict or threaten serious physical harm. A judge in Franklin County Municipal Court set his bond at $150,000.

The delivery driver was left a bit shaken and slightly injured, but the truck and its contents were reported to be safe and accounted for.
