A longtime middle school counselor and coach in Pennsylvania has been arrested on charges of child pornography after Yahoo caught him allegedly emailing explicit photos to himself.

The investigation into Kevin Siegel, 46, began when Yahoo reported suspicious activity involving explicit images of minors getting uploaded to his own email account.

This triggered a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which led law enforcement officials to get a search warrant, ABC 11 reported.

"It was stupid, a moment of weakness," Siegel told police, adding that he "wasn't thinking straight."

Siegel, who worked at Northley Middle School for over 20 years, had used special software to locate and download illicit content.

He now faces 17 counts of child pornography possession and remains in custody on $100,000 bond. The school put Siegel on leave, with the district assuring families that he will not have any contact with students.

As of now, no evidence suggests his crimes involved current or former students.
