A Texas man was allegedly motivated to shoot his girlfriend's father following a dispute over a nightclub cover charge.
Franco Xavier Summers, 32, has been charged with first-degree murder, court records show.
It's unclear if he entered a plea.
Summers is accused in the fatal shooting of Christopher Fuentes, 43, Saturday outside a San Antonio restaurant, according to police, KSAT-TV reported.
Christopher's daughter, Virginia Fuentes-Gonzales, watched her dad die.
"Franco looked me in my eye and then shot my father," Fuentes-Gonzales recalled, according to KENS-TV. "I keep seeing my father's face once he realized that he was shot. I'm constantly replaying images in my head at night, I can't sleep."
Fuentes-Gonzalez and Summers were in a romantic relationship, and Christopher had been living with the couple since his recent release from prison, KSAT reported, citing the affidavit.
The trio allegedly began Friday night drinking and agreed to go to a nearby club, but when they got there, Fuentes-Gonzalez and her dad refused to pay the cover charge, triggering an argument among the group when they got back into the car.
Summers became "very irate" and allegedly threatened the father-daughter pair that he had a gun, according to the affidavit. The exchange prompted the victim and his daughter to exit the vehicle.
As the family members walked away, Summers allegedly drove alongside them with his window down, and Christopher grabbed the suspect's arm, according to surveillance footage, the affidavit read, the outlet reported. A brief struggle ensued, and Christopher was allegedly shot several times.
Summers purportedly fled, but was arrested without incident Monday at an apartment complex.
He was previously accused in the 2013 shooting death of 17-year-old Roger Rodriguez Jr., the brother of an ex-girlfriend.
Summers claimed self-defense and charges of murder and aggravated assault were subsequently dropped by prosecutors, citing a lack of evidence, according to the outlet.
