A lawyer representing E. Jean Carroll, the journalist that President-elect Donald Trump has been civilly convicted of crimes against, reminded Trump of the almost $90 million he has been ordered to pay her which she still has not received.

"Mr. Trump's election to the presidency does nothing to change either the fact, as determined by two separate juries, that he sexually assaulted and defamed Ms. Carroll, or the applicable legal principles under which he was held liable for that conduct," attorney Robbie Kaplan told Courthouse News Service.

Trump was convicted of defaming Carroll in May of 2023, after she alleged that he sexually abused her in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in New York City in the late 1990s. The defamation conviction is predicated upon how the President-elect chose to deny the allegations, going a step further to deny ever even knowing Carroll.

Carroll's first lawsuit, filed in 2019, was followed by another lawsuit she later filed in 2022 where she further sued Trump for battery in accordance with the Adult Survivors Act. She was awarded $5 million for her second lawsuit against Trump, in which the jury convicted Trump of having committed sexual abuse against her, and a further $83.3 million for the first lawsuit, reported AP News.

Though he was convicted in civil court which does not denote criminal guilt, many find it condemning that two separate juries made up of Manhattan residents convicted him of the charges.

Carroll herself has repeatedly remarked on Trump and the lawsuits. A staunch supporter of the Democratic party, Carroll has largely aided in the presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris, having used to her platforms to urge voters to cast their ballots for the Democratic candidate.

"Do you want to vote for the man who has to pay me $83,300,000 because a unanimous federal jury found out he LIED?" Carroll posted to X (formerly Twitter).

Carroll also released a statement to X on Wednesday, after the man convicted of assaulting her was elected the 47th President of the United States.

"I tried to tell you," she wrote.
