During a court hearing this week for a Kentucky "witch" accused of dismembering her mom, family members alleged their brother was a co-conspirator in the grisly slaying.

Earlier this month, Torilena Fields, 32, was charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the death of her mother, 68-year-old Trudy Fields, according to police.

Officers responded to Trudy's Mount Olivet, Kentucky home Oct. 11 after a repair worker believed he stumbled upon her dismembered body.

The worker said when he arrived on site, Fields – who claimed that she was a "witch" – was "casting spells on them" and "being confrontational," police said, according to the arrest warrant, WLWT-TV reported.

As part of the latest developments in the case, a judge denied Fields' sister's request for a protective order against their brother, Truitt Fields, who she accused of being involved in their mother's alleged murder, in court documents and during a virtual hearing Tuesday.

"Well, my mother was butchered and my brother had threatened to do so for years," Telby Fields alleged, according to WLEX-TV. "Him and my sister both, and it happened... that's what happened judge, my mother was cut to pieces."

Telby, the eldest sibling, alleged Truitt threatened to kill their entire family and her in an effort to "claim his 'birthright' as the first born," the filing stated, according to the station.

She accused Truitt of being an accomplice in their mother's alleged murder.

Siding with Telby during the hearing was their younger brother, Titus Fields, who described Truitt as being "cultish," the outlet reported.

Appearing from his home state of California, Truitt denied the allegations.

"She's manipulative, has tried to manipulate our family," Truitt alleged of Telby. "I think she's using fear, and let fear get a hold of her and creates stories in her head that are not true, your honor."

The judge declined Telby's request for a protective order, citing a lack of evidence of Truitt's involvement, given he was in California at the time of the incident, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Police alleged Trudy's arms, legs and head were chopped off and her upper body and spine were "severed in half and the organs removed," WLWT reported. Officers said some body parts were stuffed in a folded mattress while other body parts "appeared to have been cooked" in a pot inside the oven.

Fields allegedly shot her mom in the head on Oct. 8 or 9, before dismembering her, say police, the Associated Press reported. She is also accused of killing a dog.

A motive remains under investigation.
