Suspected suitcase killer Sarah Boone would snap "out of nowhere" and was regularly abusive, her boyfriend alleged to police during a previous call to her home.
Boone, 46, is on trial for the second-degree murder of Jorge Torres Jr., 42, during an alleged game of hide-and-seek at her Winter Park, Florida apartment in 2020, authorities said, according to the Associated Press.
On Thursday, the prosecution hinted toward a history of abuse perpetrated by Boone by unveiling body cam footage from a call placed sometime before Torres' death, during which he claimed Boone often "snaps out of nowhere."
"She hits me, and I'm the one who gets locked up," Torres told the responding officer, WOFL-TV reported.
"My heart is I don't want to be in trouble, but [expletive] if I'm tired of being beaten up," he stated in the footage, according to the station.
Boone allegedly told detectives they spent the night drinking and agreed it would be funny if Torres climbed into the luggage. She allegedly recorded herself teasing him when he begged her to unzip the suitcase because he claimed he couldn't breathe. The victim was found dead the next morning, according to investigators.
Closing arguments are expected to continue Friday, and a verdict could be reached later in the evening.
If convicted, Boone faces up to life in prison.
