Former 90s rock band member Theo "Mylo" Lengyel was driven to kill his longtime girlfriend after she refused to go out and play pool with him, prosecutors revealed by playing a shocking, secret audio recording for the jury, earlier this month.

A judge allowed the state to unveil the horrific, three-hour-long clip, covertly recorded by Alice "Alyx" Herrmann, 61, on her cell phone the night she was killed, despite objections from the rocker-turned-data engineer's defense attorneys, according to KRON-TV.

The haunting recording began Dec. 3, 2023 at 8:56 P.M.

Alice could first be heard playing piano, which is interrupted minutes later by the couple arguing over her refusal to leave her Capitola, California home that night to go out to play pool with her would-be killer.

"Why is it so important to you? Why is it a contest of wills? Have a fun time," Alice told Lengyel, encouraging him to go without her.

At 9:53 P.M., he threatens her life: "I could mash your f***ing brain," Lengyel is heard saying, according to the station.

"When you drink, this s**t happens, we fight," she responds.

Fifteen minutes later, he threatens to slaughter their dog, Trav.

"How about I just kill Trav to demonstrate how I could kill you?" he proposes, the outlet reported.

The threat seemingly pushes Alice over the edge and she orders Lengyel to leave.

"You need to go out. You should find another girlfriend. Bye! Bye! Bye, why are you still here?" she screams.

At 10:39 P.M., things can be heard turning physical, and Lengyel climbs on top of Alice, restraining her as she struggles to free herself from his grip.

"Are you at my mercy right now?" he taunts. "Do you want to have a... truce right now? You wanna live?"

She answers by telling Lengyel she no longer wants to be with him and proceeds to cry.

"You're gonna f***ing die right now," he tells her. "Are you ready?"

At 11:30 P.M., Alice is heard struggling to catch her breath, the outlet reported.

"Okay. How do you want to die? Blunt trauma or something else ... think you should be choked to death? How about that?" Lengyel suggests.

Alice is heard begging him to stop until her breathing fades and she dies.

The audio cuts after midnight.

Lengyel subsequently buried her body in a Berkley, California park, where it was found in January, sparking her murder investigation.

The damning recording coupled with the discovery of her buried body was enough to convince the jury that Lengyel killed Alice and convict him of first-degree murder Thursday, despite his not guilty plea, according to KSBW-TV.

He faces up to life in prison and will be sentenced Nov. 7.

Loved ones previously described Alice as a "soft-spoken lover of life, and an adventurous athlete even at 61, with a strong connection to the sea, to her daughter, and to the many friends who loved her very much," according to SFGATE.
