A former Massachusetts police officer has been indicted on child rape and child pornography charges relating to an alleged sexual relationship he had with a 15-year-old girl.
Prosecutors say that 35-year-old Alexander Allen told another police officer that he had a sexual relationship with the minor last year, sparking an investigation conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Billerica Police Department.
The investigation found that Allen first met the victim when she was 14. Two months before her 16th birthday in 2021, Allen allegedly drove her home after picking her up from an appointment, after which he engaged in sexual relations with the teen.
Prosecutors also say that the victim sent Allen a naked photo of herself upon his request.
"The allegations against Allen, if proven, are deeply disturbing and represent a betrayal of the oath sworn by police officers to protect the innocent and serve the public with integrity," Billerica Police Chief Roy Frost said in a statement. "There is no room in the Billerica Police Department for the abhorrent behavior alleged in this case," Frost said.
