A convicted rapist kept a "disturbing" stockpile of child porn at his Idaho home, according to prosecutors.

Jason Arthur Bergener, 44, struck a plea agreement with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a child by possession of child porn.

He was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and will have to remain registered as a sex offender.

"Our ICAC investigators and prosecutors work hard to deliver justice for these tragically young victims of such disturbing crimes," Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador said in a statement Thursday. "I'm grateful for the partnerships that have been built across the state and the awareness raised across the state, and for the judges who take these crimes seriously when determining sentences."

The investigation into child porn allegations against Bergener began in October 2023 when detectives received a cyber tip that 15 videos depicting sexually explicit content involving minors were uploaded to his cloud account, police said, according to East Idaho News.

The disturbing videos showed children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old being raped by adults and compelled to participate in bestiality, court documents stated, the outlet reported.

Detectives found 245 more files belonging to Bergener that contained sexually explicit content involving minors during their investigation.

Bergener first registered as a sex offender in 2005 when he was convicted of rape, according to the Idaho Sex Offender Registry.
