A series of horrifying texts have surfaced between an Indiana couple accused of burning their newborn kids in a fire pit.
Authorities began investigating Steven Valle, 31, and Samantha Sebella, 25, on September 20, when Valle allegedly confessed to friends about killing two undocumented children and burning their bodies in their backyard fire pit, according to FOX32.
The children reportedly had no documentation, such as a birth certificate or social security number, and were therefore unknown to government records.
When law enforcement arrived at the home where Valle and Sebella previously lived, they discovered partial bone fragments that a specialist in Indianapolis confirmed were human.
On Thursday, the couple was taken into custody and were charged with murder, neglect of a dependent causing death, abuse of a corpse, obstruction of justice, and failure to report a dead body.
Valle and Sebella initially told police they had no knowledge of any child being burned in a firepit; however, they did admit to having one child, whom they did not have a birth certificate for because the birth happened at home.
Authorities confiscated their cellphones and were reportedly able to uncover numerous messages that indicated Valle killed and burned multiple children.
"You killed my kids cause you are a f*****; you never loved me," one message read, while another said,
"YOU KILLED OUR BABIES; I HAVE THERE (sic) DNA IN MY BODY FOREVER."
On September 30, police brought cadaver dogs to the residence, who then flagged a fire pit and a pile of ashes near the garage, prompting investigators to excavate part of the backyard with shovels and uncovering the bone fragments, reported FOX59.
Valle allegedly admitted that Sebella had given birth to a boy in 2018.
He told officers Sebella gave birth to the child whilst alone, claiming that when he returned home, he found her passed out with the child lying between her legs.
Furthermore, Valle explained the child was not awake or breathing, so he cleaned up the newborn, placed him in a blanket, and put him in a box.
He allegedly went on to say he buried the child in his backyard after three days because he "knew the child wouldn't be coming back to life."
Valle then told officers Sebella got pregnant a second time and prematurely gave birth to a child in a bathtub while he was at work.
Again, he claimed the newborn was dead and wrapped in a blanket when he arrived home, so he reportedly buried the child in the backyard near the first.
The children had been buried for about three to five years before Valle dug them up and burned them in the firepit.
He allegedly told officers he had saved the ashes to create a necklace.
Valle and Sebella are currently being held at Jasper County Detention Center.
They both remain without bond.
