Authorities in Utah have uncovered "significant digital evidence" against a woman accused of murdering her husband, a U.S. Military Special Operations member, amid reports of a violent argument before his disappearance.
Police in Utah are revealing a mountain of digital evidence against a mother who is accused of killing her husband and attempting to cover up the scene.
Jennifer Gledhill, 41, was arrested Tuesday evening for the alleged murder of her husband, Matthew Johnson, 51.
Investigators reportedly found "significant physical and digital evidence" to support Gledhill's arrest.
Johnson, a member of the United States Military Special Operations Unit was last seen around September 20, said the Cottonwood Heights Police Department.
Witness between September 20 and September 21 recalled an argument between the couple.
Authorities believe Johnson was killed by a gunshot wound.
"It is known that the couple had been considering divorce since July of this year and that they have three minor children, aged 11, 7, and 5 years," said Cottonwood Heights Police in a press release.
Gledhill was booked into the Salt Lake County Adult Detention Center on one count of murder and one count of obstruction of justice, according to KTVX.
Recently unsealed court documents indicate that Gledhill informed a third party about shooting her estranged husband in the head in the master bedroom of their home in Cottonwood Heights.
Gledhill allegedly confessed to the third party that she buried Johnson in a shallow grave at an unknown location and then removed and destroyed evidence from the house in an effort to conceal the crime, KTVX also revealed.
The murder charge could carry a penalty of five years to life in prison while the obstruction of justice charge could earn her one to 15 years in prison.
"We want to express our heartfelt sympathy to the families, especially to the Johnson children," expressed Sgt. Gary Young.
"These unfortunate tragedies tear apart the fabric of our families."
