Anitra Holloman, one of the victims of the recent Alabama mass shooting, had lost her boyfriend and the father of her daughter two years prior due to gun violence.

Demetris Silliman Jr., Holloman's longtime sweetheart, was found shot to death on October 11, 2022, in his Chevy Impala. His shooting still remains unsolved.

Holloman was four months pregnant with their daughter Skilar at the time he was slain.

Her mother, Candance Kemp, told AL.com that the couple were in love and had been together for a long time.

"My baby stayed strong,'' she said.

"She had their baby, and she was the best mom. She's been taking care of their baby since then."

By 21, she was a college student, working, and a single mother with dreams of becoming a teacher.

Her plans were tragically cut short on Saturday night after she was fatally shot while waiting in line with friends to go inside Hush Lounge on Magnolia Avenue.

"My baby was shot four times," said Kemp.

"She didn't stand a chance. They just really broke my heart," added the grieving mother.

Holloman was one of four people killed when several gunmen opened fire in Five Points South, emptying more than 100 rounds into the crowd of people gathered in the bustling entertainment district.

The shooting wounded 17 others, five of whom remain hospitalized.

Holloman had been out that night celebrating an alumni event, doing what 21-year-old girls do, her mother expressed.

Shots reportedly rang out as soon as she got in line with her friends.

Kemp revealed another victim—27-year-old Tahj Booker—tried to shield Holloman from the bullets. Both died on the sidewalk.

A reward of up to $100,000 is being offered by the FBI and Crime Stoppers for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible.
