Police have charged an individual in the heinous murders of a family of four in Irondequoit, New York.

On August 31, the bodies of Fraime Ubaldo, 30, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2, were found in the basement of their home stabbed to death.

In investigator Bradley Lape's written testimony, obtained by WXXI, the suspect is identified as Julio Cesar Pimental Soriano, 34.

Soriano, who also goes by Rafael Jose Vargas, was identified through interviews with civilian informants and from video captured during the crime.

The suspect was taken into custody on September 7.

Soriano, originally from the Dominican Republic, has been charged with four counts of second-degree murder for now.

Investigators continue to assess whether others were involved, said First Assistant District Attorney Perry Duckles.

"I can tell you that I don't think this is something random that happened," Duckles said.

"I can tell you I do think there is a motive, and what that motive is we're still looking into."

Soriano is allegedly wanted for another homicide in the Dominican Republic from 2019.

A wanted public advisory was posted by the Dominican National Police on September 6, a day before Soriano's arrest.

Irondequoit authorities report Soriano entered Puerto Rico illegally before obtaining fraudulent New York documentation and used the American ID to travel from PR to the US mainland.

A motive for the homicide remains unclear as the investigation is ongoing.
