Harvey Weinstein has just been indicted on additional charges Thursday by a New York grand jury following emergency heart surgery was rushed into Bellevue hospital to undertake.
As it stands, the additional charges are under seal, Weinstein will likely be charged via arraignment at a later date, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The indictments are reportedly connected to sexual assault allegations from three individuals, news outlet further revealed.
The hearing follows Weinstein being rushed to Bellevue Hospital in New York for heart surgery just days earlier. He was absent from court on Thursday, having not received medical clearance to attend.
Weinstein was rushed to a hospital Monday from Rikers Island where he is being held for emergency heart surgery after he complained of chest pains, representatives say, as court date for sexual misconduct looms.
"Mr. Weinstein was rushed to Bellevue Hospital last night due to several medical conditions," Weinstein representatives Craig Rothfeld and Juda Engelmayer said in a statement at the time.
"We can confirm that Mr. Weinstein had a procedure and surgery on his heart today however cannot comment any further than that," ABC News further revealed.
They continued, "As we have extensively stated before, Mr. Weinstein suffers a plethora of significant health issues that need ongoing treatment. We are grateful to the executive team at the New York City Department of Correction and Rikers Island for acting swiftly in taking him to Bellevue Hospital."
The 72-year-old Oscar -winning Producer has consistently denied any wrongdoing, asserting that any and all sexual encounters were entirely consensual.
The next date for a medical update regarding Weinstein's health is September 18th.
