A teenager who killed his father in Oklahoma avoided prosecution on claims of self-defense and was cleared in his murder, but now the teen stands accused of killing his mother in Florida and with zero remorse.

Collin Griffith, 17, is in custody after allegedly killing his mother, Catherine Griffin, 39, on Sunday, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

At a press conference, Judd described the 911 call from Griffith himself on Sunday, in which he states that he and his mother "had a very long argument and she fell on a knife."

Deputies who arrived on the scene found Griffith "calm, cool, collected—and he had blood on him," revealed the sheriff.

Investigators found several inconsistences in Griffith's version of events, and a medical examiner stated that it's just "not reasonable or plausible that she died the way that he said she did."

Judd also noted that despite Griffith's claims of a lengthy fight between him and his mother, the home was "neat and clean, [with] no evidence of any kind of a long fight, as he said."

When deputies arrived on scene, Griffith reportedly showed "zero remorse" and zero sense of urgency concerning his critically injured mother.

"He looked the deputy in the eye and said, 'I know my rights," Judd recalled Griffith saying. "'I want an attorney.'"

Judd went on to detail the Valentine's Day death of Griffith's father, where the teen said his father pulled a knife at him, so he shot him once in the chest and once in the head."

Authorities in Oklahoma dropped the charges less than a month later because they said they "could not disprove Collin's assertion of self-defense" and that the then-15-year-old went to live with his mother in Charlotte County, Florida.

On Sunday, around 4:00 pm, neighbors witnessed the 17-year-old and his mother arguing outside of the house. Neighbors told deputies he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her inside.

Hours later, Catherine Griffith was dead.

"When you look at this, you see a kid," Judd commented.

"When I look at him, I see a psychopath."

Griffith has been charged with first-degree murder. The sheriff's office has requested the state's attorney's office to prosecute him as an adult.
