Chris Brown wraps his 'Con Air' trip to LA, to spend another week in jail for probation violation

By

On Thursday, a Los Angeles court hearing has been graced by the appearance of rapper Chris Brown following his cross-country trip from Washington for his misdemeanor assault trial. CNN said Brown was transported via the inmate transport system of the federal government, known by its more informal name "Con Air."

In his Los Angeles court hearing, the state and Brown's attorney Mark Geragos had been working on an agreement to deal with Brown's probation violation. His probation stemmed from the 2009 beating of his then-girlfriend Robyn "Rihanna" Fenty, which was then revoked when he and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy allegedly assaulted a man outside a W Hotel in Washington. The rapper, who turns 25 on Monday, has been logging travel hours as a result of his complicated legal situation due to the delay of the start of his Washington trial. Brown was escorted four weeks ago by US marshals from the Los Angeles county jail where he was detained due to the probation violation. According to Deputy US Marshal Laura Vegas, US Marshals handed Brown back to deputies of the Los Angeles Sheriff's office just hours before the hearing on Thursday.

Last week, Geragos exclaimed over the overreaction of authorities regarding Brown's legal dilemma. Geragos' filing to have the Los Angeles court release Brown to him to accompany his client to his hearing in Washington was denied.

"I think it's a little over the top to have him in custody on this misdemeanor when everybody saw the bodyguard's trial and which was nothing more than a bloody nose. And you have got the bodyguard who was convicted and who readily admitted he was the one who did the punching. So all of this is much ado about nothing," Geragos said.

Geragos and Assistant District Attorney Mary Murray reportedly agreed to discuss in the next week regarding the possibility of Brown admitting that he had violated his probation. CNN said that should that happen, the agreement will be announced next Friday. Otherwise, a judge will be scheduling a trial date on Brown's probation violation.
