It looks like the new movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is getting a lot of publicity, but in a bad way. The film's director, Bryan Singer, has been named in a federal lawsuit who sexually abused a 17 year-old boy then in Kailua, Hawaii and Los Angeles estates. The lawsuit claimed that Singer exposed the boy to firearms, drugs and alcohol and that the boy was abused, raped and physically forced into getting intoxicated with cocaine. Moreover, the highly graphic lawsuit, according to The Hollywood Reporter, detailed how Singer introduced the boy into sordid parties and influenced him to get drunk and get high on drugs.
A Nevada resident, Michael Egan III, was named as the plaintiff in the lawsuit. The 31 year-old has been trying to further his acting career ever since he and his family moved to Los Angeles from the Midwest, THR said. Egan filed the suit in his name and that a press release issued by his counsel identified him as the plaintiff. He said in the lawsuit that Singer and others had threatened to make or break his aspirations in Hollywood if he keeps them happy.
The suit describes how Egan attended parties at an Encino mansion referred to as the M & C Estate. One of the residents, Marc Collins-Rector, allegedly abused Egan sexually and threatened him with a gun. In another sexual incident, Egan said that Singer had supplied him with drugs and alcohol while attending a party at the Paul Mitchell estate in Hawaii, and also forced him to inhale cocaine. Singer allegedly pushed Egan into a swimming pool, held his head underwater, and raped him repeatedly. Egan said that during the incident, he was threatened and offered at the same time with promises of employment by Singer.
It is to note that Collins-Rector was not named in the suit. The Digital Entertainment Network co-principal is reportedly registered as a sex offender, and has pled guilty to transporting minors across state lines for sex.
Singer's attorney Marty Singer said about the claims, "The claims made against Bryan Singer are completely without merit. We are very confident that Bryan will be vindicated in this absurd and defamatory lawsuit. It is obvious that this case was filed in an attempt to get publicity at the time when Bryan's new movie is about to open in a few weeks."
