Alleged Kentucky highway shooter who gunned down 5 people sent chilling text prior: 'I'm going to kill a lot of people'

Authorities are still searching for purported gunman Joseph Couch, 32, after he allegedly sprayed bullets from an AR-15 at unsuspecting drivers on Interstate 15, near London, Kentucky, on Saturday, according to the FBI. FBI

As the manhunt for the suspect accused of injuring multiple people that were driving down a Kentucky highway enters its third day, it's been revealed that the he sent haunting text messages only 30 minutes before the shooting promising that he was "going to kill a lot of people".

Laurel dispatch had received a call from a woman who said that Couch, 32, had sent her a text indicating that he intended to kill a lot of people, according to WKYT.

Investigators interviewed that woman who called dispatch on Sunday and she presented a screenshot of the text, in part, "I'm going to kill a lot of people. Well try at least."

There was another message that was sent to her that said, "I'll kill myself afterwards ..."

In the shooting, at least 12 vehicles were struck, though some didn't realize their cars were hit until they arrived at their destinations hours away. As many as 20 to 30 rounds may have been fired, Sheriff's Capt. Richard Dalrymple said.

Authorities are now entering the third day of their search for Couch.

He has been described by authorities as "armed and dangerous".

Twelve vehicles were shot at, resulting in the non-fatal injuries of five people, said authorities, according to the Associated Press.

The wounded were identified by the Laurel County Sheriff's Office Monday as: Rebecca Puyear, Norma Liberia, Renee Walker, Janet Booth and Erick Tavin, according to WLKY.

All the wounded are currently in stable condition and authorities are offering $15,000 rewards for information that leads to his arrest, WNDU revealed.
